The big night is finally almost here! On May 30th, 5-10pm at Riverwalk Commons I will have a booth at NGA's Night Market 2025.
This event is quite special to me as this was my very first NGA event last year and to say I had no idea what I was doing is a total understatement. Non of my paintings were framed, they were flopping around in the wind and I had to joke that my presentation was very "punk rock". But after gaining more experience and learning how to present myself in a more professional manner, I'm so excited to show my town the amount of growth I've gone through!
First off, nearly all my pieces have frames, if not at least some plastic covering. There will also be more prints and a variety of stickers for sale. I have also ordered new business cards which features one of my favourite cartoon self portraits. I also hope to be more playful with my displays, using teacups and old tin boxes to keep everything neat.
My pieces still vary and although I still have gestural and illustrative pieces, the collection is mostly made up of lettering and cartoons. I am so proud of the work I have done in the last year and really look forward to having it all on display. To me, this event is not just about making sales, it's about putting myself out there for my community to see and hopefully build relationships.
Oh, and of course our booth will have candy!
I'll be sharing a booth with the amazing photographer, Renato Petean Marino. And no surprise the entire market will be filled with so many talented members of the Newmarket Group of Artists of all mediums. Please come out to see and support the art scene of Newmarket, it'll be a crazy fun night!
